Lilium papilliferum

Lilium papilliferum

CHF75.00Price

A little gem from Tibet and China. This indeed very small lilly, reaching only 10-15 cm's tall here, with deep wine red flowers 5 cm's across begins growing very late, often in June, and then grows very rapidly to flower in july/august, with bright green grassy leaves.

The bulbs are quite small, being a dwarf sp, and will sometimes be stoliniferous, in that the stem will emerge about 15-20 cm's from where you originally planted the bulb. Mark the planting spot well, so that you do not acidentally break the wandering underground shoots late on in the season when planting around them.
