This fabulous selection of papaver paenoiflorum was originally selected by Bob and Diana Gibson in Washington State in the USA. Diana discovered a particularly dark-flowered specimen among thousands of her seedlings. She then selected this particular seed pod, sowed them and continued this selection process in following generations in order to keep only the darkest flowered plants. A stunning annual that will generally self-seed every season if you leave the seed pods in place. Flowering in May/June.
